...finally...

i've learned to live without internet and tv for about 3 weeks! there's really a lot more things more worthy of my time here in london ^o^. a new week, a new beginning. we started with design today and it just brought new hope for my dreams of becoming a interior slash fashion slash product designer. it was great fun, really organised schedule and full of thoughtful, helpful tutors. i still cant get enough of this doing art full time thing. i mean when ppl are sitting in dull lecture halls listening to a bunch of complicated topics, i'm sitting in a studio, maddly scribbling all over the wall. hahaha now i've realised how great it is working in such a creative environment.

now my halls is just a completely different story, i really dont mean to update all this negative stuff about my accomodation but as it so happens, there's not much else to report about it. anywhoo, apart from regular visits from the fire brigade (our alarm keeps on setting off) and me having to climb over the fence a couple of times cuz the gate's been broken and we're locked IN, we're back to the safety issue. last weekend, just around 11.30 (not that late mind you) my flat mate got mugged right outside our gate!!! it was so scary...she came in and just slammed the door screaming. aparently this guy must had stalked her down our road and ran up to her and pulled her bag of her shoulders. scary!!! gah i'll be so paranoid when walking home alone. faints...

a day of mice and walking into metal poles

finally internet access!!! this has definately been an intense week. so much has happened i dont know where to start! from getting into the after party at the dmc world dj championships last monday to going to my first gig at koko to see junior senior (have you heard of these danish guys clara?) and meeting up with janie julian and em at warwick and then getting so sick i couldn't see where i was going and walked into a metal pole ysterday. god it was so embarassing, happening in the library with all these people waching!!! i could have died on the spot. *faints* my glasses when all awry and i had this huge red imprint on my face. gah what idiot decided to place this gigantic pole right infront of the library entrance?

another mindboggling discovery took place in my room the day before yesterday. k, to be more specific, it happened in the drawer slightly beneath my sink where i found this hole. mice mice mice!! i left a bag of opened sunflower seeds in there the other day, (i know it was stupid of me, but they really should have rodents running around the 4th floor in the first place) and i found it torn, ripped, scattered and completely eaten. it was so disgusting. i had acually heard little scratching noises during the nights...but have been pretty prune to ignore such sounds. maybe i shoud go out and get a torch gun or something. i'm living in a rat infested building!!! my god as if the tiny kitchen, crappy unfunctional bathrooms wasn't enough. i'm too pissed off to write any more. i'll try to update more often.

first night at brooke hall

i felt so lost when my parents left yesterday. i sat on my bed for like 20min just staring into nothing. i had this horrible knot in my stomache and couldn't think or concentrate on anything. it was really scary. more scary than the hives of bees that showed up in our kitchen this morning.

but my platmates are great! they'er so sweet and nice, we get along great. it seemed like they had a lot of experience on they're own and were both really into music. but i guess all british people are like that. it is literally true that everyone here is in a band or at least knows someone who's in a  band. girl from across the hall, emma, she has loads of vinyl records and this massive dj mixing player thing (whatever its called). we went to a local pub and just talked for a while, planning on going to see loads of gigs ^o^. even tho i'm really quite dim when they start talking about all these bands, they make sure i dont feel left out. there's two more people moving in today. we were planning on making chinese for everyone...but not sure how that's going to turn out. time is running out on the meter (i'm sitting in a internet cafe) so i gotta wrap this up.

entrollment

yay, i'm all entrolled and ready to go. haha ^o^ i went to chelsea first thing this morning, got my student id and schedule for the next week. there were quite a lot of people, the school had three days for foundation year enrollment alone!! but all i saw were girls...there weren't half as many guys there. didn't really have time to talk to many students, lined up for like half and hour and then ran about the place looking for student services (need a family doctor for my nasty cough) and in the end, only to find out they're closed for the weekend!!

went grocery shopping in this massive supermarket. it remind me a bit of china actually...its v. walmart-ish, they sell everything there from clothes to food. bought loads of daily essentials. now it's really sinking in that i'm going to have to start living on my own. at least my room's nice and cosy now, but i'm dying for a trip to IKEA!! it's like getting a piece of home.

right, gotta keep this entry short...have homework to get a head start on. we actually got our first assignment today. clara ask julian if he's heard of these film genres, spaghetti wester, silent comedy and film noir. we're suppose to take a series of black and white photographs in connection to one of these genres for next wednesday. i've heard of the latter two but what the heck is spaghetti western?  gah we'll see how it turns out. doesn't it sound like fun tho? hehe...so excited about school.

helpless without wireless internet

i have no wireless internet. i have no wireless internet. i have no wireless internet. gah, how can i have no wireless internet!!!??? how can college dorms not provide internet access for their students? what century are we in girls and boys? how do they expect us to do research? *faints*

it's been yet another eventful day. i've come back to our friend's house...not because i'm too chicken to sleep in the apartment alone...but cuz i'd really like to enjoy my last days of adjustable water taps and comfy beds. little did i know of london districts when i applied for my application, so i had no idea i was placing myself right on the edge of skarholmen london. i thought my days of running from the tube station in the dark had ended when i moved out of bredang but nope..looks like the small personal alarm will be my new best friend along the streets of brixton.

apparently the area homes a majority of black people, not that i'm prejudiced or anything but it's a poor people's area and commonly has muggings and stuff. what did not help with my paranoia was the string of 8 keys i got from the landlord and a personal alarm, telling me to keep it in my purse on the way home. anyways it's conforting to know that burglars would need really good lock picking skills to get to my room (that or being a good climber), we have a metal gate, a locked door downstairs, a locked doors leading to my floor and me heavy apartment door. ^o^

hehe anyhow in the end, i did get a pretty nice room. it's clean and spacious, i get my own fridge and wash basin, pink curtains, nice view and a big closet. i met two of my housemates today, bought a bunch of rice and noodles and left the place for friday. oh in between getting magazines useful design books for myself, i found the perfect present for you clara!! i'll get my dad to bring it back to sweden and send it to you there. cheers mates.
